Electrical Testing & Relay Technician

Job Description:

Jolma Utilities is looking for a driven and curious individual to join as an Electrical Testing & Relay Technician/Apprentice in the Testing Department. Someone who doesn’t shy away from difficult problems and gets excited about problem-solving daily. Responsibilities:

  • Relay programming/testing commissioning, Medium Voltage testing.
  • Assist with equipment/material preparation.
  • Complete Nicet Certifications. (Nicet 4 Certification would be the final expectation.)
  • Fill out and submit test results for customers.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Help and assist the department manager with any office duties when needed.
  • Travel from time to time, including outside the State of Wisconsin.
  • Working with Transformers and SEL Relays on medium voltage solar sites in MN, IL, and the East Coast.
  • Working as an integral part of the Testing Department Team.
  • Being safety conscious.
  • Understanding and following through on JU guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License, Class A CDL is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings, which are not limited to Drug Tests, and background checks.
  • Ability to work in a team and be involved.
  • Eagerness to learn and can follow instructions.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow through on certain duties.
  • Abide by JU’s and Manufacturer’s safety procedures and industry safety standards.
  • Must be able to travel to various sites as required outside of WI.

Pay Range: $32-60 per hour depending on experience.
