Position Overview
Jolma Utilities is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator Assistant to support our estimating and project management team. This position plays a key role in preparing bids, organizing project information, tracking costs, and assisting with job performance reviews. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced utility construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project bid preparation and submission
- Set up jobs and organize project documentation
- Update labor, material, and equipment pricing databases
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes
- Track bid opportunities and follow up on submitted proposals
- Assist with job income, cost, and production reviews
- Help maintain estimating spreadsheets and project records
- Coordinate with project managers and field personnel as needed
- Support administrative tasks related to estimating and operations
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in construction, utilities, estimating, or office administration preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of utility construction or electrical infrastructure projects
- Experience with estimating or project management software
- Familiarity with material procurement and vendor communication
